The remote’s makers claim it can control 30,000 products out of the box. That covers all major AV gear made in the last decade, including TVs and sound systems, cable boxes from the likes of Comcast and Time Warner, set top boxes like Apple TV and Roku, and other popular products like Sonos speakers and Phillips Hue light bulbs.”

Emotional CCTV Footages

Close Circuit Television provide more information to its owners, other than those that are related to security.

It can catch unguarded moments that for some, could even be emotional.

Sun-Gazing.com shared a video of what an elderly woman does to pass up time. “The title of this video is “Junk Mail”, because when Mary is not at the senior center that she enjoys immensely, she has nothing to do and no one to talk to. She lives alone and no one comes to visit. She confides in the person interviewing her that “[she] has to do something or [she’ll] go nuts” so she cuts up junk mail, puts it in a bag and throws it away.”

Will tear you up

Viral4Real meantime shared this video of a street dweller who is oftenly seen by a shop owner in their security camera sleeping in front of his shop. “The shop owner would constantly hurt him, shout at him, and send him away. It was like that every day, but still the homeless man slept in front of the shop. Until one day, the homeless man never returned. When the shop owner checked his CCTV, he found something important—but too late to realize its relevance.”

Safety and Security through a CCTV

All about CCTV Cameras

Are CCTVs really helpful in ensuring security and safety? (Photo Credits)

Closed-Circuit Television or CCTV is no longer for commercial establishments, as a growing number of homes already have CCTVs installed in residences to help secure homeowners and their property. Builders and Contractors

Veridin.com shares that Internet-Protocol Based CCTVs do a lot in terms of accessibility to the information recorded by the CCTV. “These days, rather than occupying reels of tape, company security videos can be stored digitally. Not only that, but remote access is a reality – businesses can now see what is happening around the world from them with the click of a button.

Even in areas of relatively low crime rates, it is important to maintain a security presence, particularly in high-risk industries like medical marijuana.”

Beyond having Peace of Mind

Sooperarticles.com shared that more than just providing peace of mind to home and business owners, having a CCTV installed can reap for the owner more benefit than he or she intended to have. Electricians

“Through CCTV installers, you can now boost your business. Since such systems provide deterrence against employees and outsiders, the efficiencies of business can be improved greatly. You can now control your staff with ease to save huge revenue. By remaining aware of what your staff is doing all the time, such as when do they arrive and leave, and how long they take off for cigarette breaks, you can lower costs. This is now necessary as the minimum wage is increasing and you need to ensure that your staff is not costing you more than required.”

RobinsonsMea.com also underscored the importance of CCTVs in prosecuting crimes. “Of course, for the places where the cameras are being used properly, it’s worth noting that they have helped police solve a wide range of cases. Without them, would that murder suspect have been caught? Or would suspected criminal activity have been able to be monitored? It’s easy to forget just how important CCTV really is in our modern society. The positives appear to outrun the negatives. The main objective of CCTV is to improve community safety by detecting and deterring crime. Seeing a CCTV camera can reduce the threat of criminal activity, thus reducing the fear of crime. As a society we need CCTV cameras to not only assist the local authorities in their enforcement but to provide information to the media and the public. Our society is naturally curious of the events going on around us, so video footage helps to give further insight that a news article couldn’t.”

About Glass Doors

Random Stories on Glass Doors

Amusing stories on glass doors. (Photo Credits)

Glass doors would definitely mean people inside of it can be seen from the outside.

A raccoon featured over Rare.Us proved this true as she kept on knocking on a glass door while looking at the food bowl of a house pet.

“This family knows Rocksy the raccoon well. Why, do you ask? ‘This silly raccoon has figured out that after she has raided the cat food bowl and it is empty, that she will just knock on the door — FOR HOURS — until I refill it!” wrote the person who lives on the other side of the glass. “It is hysterical! She is adorable and has lived in my yard for years.’ Although we aren’t sure how she figured out how to knock, it definitely gets the job done.”

Super clear, it is almost invisible

And because glass windows and doors could be so super clear, accidents can happen.

Just like what had happened in a home of a bow hunter as featured over at Outdoor Overload.

“Sometimes bowhunters like to practice from inside their house. Just make sure you don’t forget to open the glass door! I am guessing this actually happens a lot more than most people think. If you watch close, you’ll see that his glass door is pretty clear and this makes for an easy bow-shooting accident! The bowhunter isn’t too happy after he takes the first shot and the glass door has a big hole in it. I wonder what his wife thought about that?”

For those with glass doors and windows at home, stained glass could be a great solution to avoid those bumps, or simply to ensure that the glass can be seen eve from afar. This was certainly emphasized on one of Jumble Joy’s posts.

“Stained glass can take a simple door layout and make it elegant. Although many people commonly associate stained glass windows with churches or traditional cottages, they can in fact add brightness and beauty to any house or apartment. Unlike standard glass windows, stained glass offers a non-traditional look and can help provide visual interest in any space. However, they are also more expensive to purchase and install, so you should take that into consideration when planning to add it to your home.”

But how about water-pumping windmills? Off Grid Quest sheds light on this type of windmill on one of its posts.

“Windmills have been around since the Middle Ages. The first recorded evidence of windmills being used for pumping water and grinding grain was in 7 AD in Persia. Then China got ahold of the idea and it spread to Asia, Africa, and the Mediterranean. The European mill appears to have developed independently from the others because the design is so different. The predecessor to our modern windmill dates back to France in 1105 and England in 1180. In the 14th century, the Dutch took windmills to a whole new level with their “tower” mills using canvas sails stretched across four wooden lattice frames like a big X. Their objective was moving enormous amounts of water into higher basins and canals.”
